Derek started racing sprint cars at Ventura Raceway (California) in 2005.After some impressive finishes in his rookie season against some of the top California Sprint Car racers,Derek earned "Co-Rookie of the Year."Derek earned the nickname the "Animal" for his high speed-high side aggressive style of driving.In September 2006, Derek claimed his first career feature win at his home track Ventura Raceway.At the end of the '06 season, Derek earned the Most Improved Driver Award.Through the years Derek has been one of the most exciting and personable drivers in the pits.We are excited to have Derek Buckley as a part of Team Fatheadz and look forward to having him represent Fatheadz on the West Coast!
